Review
Filmstock
Below is a pinwheel of sweet sagacious words from an English mob who watched our film E1even Roses, at Luton’s Filmstock Festival, United Kingdom. E1even Roses seized British impact – always a stellar honor from such hub of cool and cordiality and control -- and garnered an Audience Award. And what the good people -- many of them not exactly heart specialists -- had to say was as follows…
“So much energy, beauty, passion and lust for life and love, the screen can barely contain it.”
“A film that proves animation is much more than just ‘out of a computer’.”
“Strikingly original and brilliantly styled. Displays a coherent singular vision, transports you into another world.”
“A technically great animation with a fine sense of humour, a distinctive feeling for style and excellent timing.”
“Good animation needs a good story – this had it for me.”
“Bittersweet, loved the mix of styles.”
“Touching, sad, funny, violent, dramatic, operatic. All in 5 minutes. Remarkable.”
The Loft Cinema
The Loft Cinema, in honoring Spike and Mike's 33-year festival run, has picked some of their favorite short films and we're honored to be amongst them
Another stand-out film was multiple award-winning “E1even Roses” ...The look and feel of this film is like no other, as it integrates so many different techniques into a flawless piece of moving art. And the soundtrack by Tchaikovsky is just invigorating and fits the piece perfectly
The Austin Chronicle
Spike, the Austin Chronicle, calls 11 "one of the most heartbreaking and accurate depictions of thwarted romance since "Bambi Meets Godzilla"
